Chuckie Miller
Chuckie Miller, owner of Better Bodies Fitness Center in Long Beach, CA, has been involved in sports exercise and coaching for over 20 years. He is a Long Beach native where he starred on Long Beach Polytechnic's football team and inducted into Poly's Hall of Fame. He was a collegiate All-American, playing for UCLA before he went into the NFL playing for the Indianapolis Colts and Detroit Lions.
He remains associated with athletes and entertainers as a fitness trainer for more than 15 years. Miller has trained numerous professional athletes, most notably several potential and current NFL players. Entertainers and business executives consult with him for their fitness regimen. He works daily with individuals at all fitness levels and backgrounds to improve their overall well-being.
As a philanthropist, Chuckie is dedicated to supporting the community through is Say YES to Life foundation and is actively involved in numerous charities. He is an entrepreneur, real estate investor and business owner of several successful ventures and lives by the motto: "Never give in. Never give out. Never give up."
Lisa Scavone
As a founding Board member and Chief Operating Officer, Lisa directs Program Development and Administrative activities including marketing, human resources and finances. Her extensive business background includes over 20 years in the financial services industry in management positions in sales, service and over 10 years as the Director of Training and Development for a major retail bank. She has managed annual budgets in excess of $75m, generated profits for organizations, managed balance sheets and has directed staffs in excess 250 employees. Her leadership background includes to Human Resources management experience in health services and academic environments at UC Irvine and UCLA as well as directing training activities and staff management at major financial institutions.
Ms. Scavone’s expertise extends to managing investment real estate properties, fitness centers and she is a Certified Nutrition Counselor and is the author of numerous fitness and nutrition articles.
